Answer the question first: MacBook Pro 15 and 16 inches are all LED-backlit LCDs.
LCD and LED are not the same thing. LCD is a kind of screen panel, which is the "liquid crystal display" that everyone is familiar with. Its backlight source includes LED (light emitting diode) and CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lamp). However, since the 21st century, CCFL has been gradually eliminated. Almost all electronic product displays are LCD screens with LED backlight.
The opposite of LCD is OLED and QLED. In contrast, OLED/QLED can make colors more vivid, reduce power consumption, lighter and thinner, and bend easily. However, only the iPhone X, XS and 11Pro series are equipped with OLED screens among Apple products, and all other products use LCD.
